Baby Darwin

Thursday, May 26, 2011 | |

I love big, squishy babies and two month old, Darwin, was big, squishy and pretty darn cute!  He put up with a lot during our session.  We started outside and he wasn't especially keen on being outside, but he really warmed up and turned on the charm when we went inside.

It actually made me giggle out loud when I looked at the image of Darwin and his Dad, Clay.  They have the exact same look on their faces.  I love it.

This family lives in Qualicum Bay, but made the trip up to Royston for our session.  Mama, Sarah, is on maternity leave from her job as a production manager at Array Studios in Nanaimo and she appears to be enjoying every minute spent with her baby boy.

This was a pleasant and easy going session and I hope Sarah and Clay enjoy the results!

Cortney & Brent - Engaged!

Wednesday, May 25, 2011

Cortney and Brent are a Cumberland couple who share an enthusiasm for mountain biking and the outdoors.  We hit the bike trails for the majority of this session and finished up at Comox Lake on a beautiful and relaxed evening.

I am truly looking forward to shooting their wedding this August.  I'm sure that it is going to be loads of fun!

For those of you that don't know, Cortney is the co-owner of The Green Room on 5th Street in downtown Courtenay.  If you haven't been there lately, you should pop in and see all of the awesome new products that they carry.

Baby Zealand :)

Friday, May 20, 2011 | |

I know if might be a little early to tell, but I'll bet that Zealand is going to be one cool guy when he gets older.  And if he takes after his parents he will probably be pretty good looking too :)

Zealand was nearly 2 weeks old when we had our session, and at times he needed a little coaxing to get into his modelling zone.  His mom and dad did an amazing job of keeping him content and relaxed so we were able to capture him in a variety of scenarios.  We even bundled him up and snuck outside for a couple of quick photos.

If you missed Hailey and Bodhi's maternity session, you can check it out here.

Thanks to this family for having me over to capture their perfectly precious little dude!

Aimee, Teagon & Hayden

Wednesday, May 18, 2011

Kudos to Aimee for being organized enough to plan a gift for her hubby for Father's Day so far in advance!  I met up with Aimee and her girls,  Teagon 2 and Hayden 2 months, for a quick little session as a surprise gift for Dad.  If you know Teagon & Hayden's dad....Shhhhhh!

Hmmm, that reminds me that I need to start thinking about what to get for my own husband!

The Brown Family!

Tuesday, May 17, 2011 | |

As fellow citizens of Cumberland, the Brown family decided they wanted to stay close to home for their session.  We actually got a few photos around their yard before venturing out into the village.

Adorable little Ruben is just shy of a year old.  He is such a calm, mellow little guy!  You can really see the love that this mom and dad have for their special little man!

You might notice his awesome helicopter hat in a couple of images.  When Ruben's mama, Dionne, isn't busy doting on him, she is making these unique children's hats.  Check out her hats at Wee Dee on FacebookShe is in the process of setting up an Etsy Shop as well, keep checking back here as she will be adding more hats for sale.  Wee Dee also does custom hats if you have an idea for your little one!  I have one for my daughter and it's so cute!

Ruben's Dad, Tom, is busy too!  His company, Granite Valley Stone is the largest and longest running family owned granite business in the Comox Valley.  The are located in Merville and do counter tops and exterior stone sales.  Check out the Granite Valley website for more information.

Thanks for a fun afternoon Brown family!

A Peek at the Spring Mini Sessions!

Friday, May 13, 2011 | |

I don't think that I could have asked that last Saturday's mini sessions go smoother!
I was genuinely impressed with all of the kids.  They were all so awesome (& cute!) and the parents were so relaxed, that it really made the day a success!  Some of the kids took their modeling jobs seriously, while others just wanted to play...either way, they were fantastic!
Even the weather cooperated, despite a forecast that included rain!  Yahoo!
I hope that these families had as much fun as I did while we strolled around Simms Park and beyond snapping photos.

Thanks so much to everyone who came out and I will look forward to doing this again in the future!
