Paul, Melanie and Tim

Some photo sessions just go smoothly from start to finish and when we're done, I feel like it was just too easy!  This was one of those times.  Nineteen month old, Paul, was so great to photograph (even though he had missed his nap).  Maybe he wasn't as smiley as he usually is, but does it matter when you are this cute?!

Melanie and Tim were total naturals and chose their waterfront home in Royston as the setting for their images.  Their home holds a lot of special meaning to this family as it was Melanie's grandmother's home and she spent a lot of time there as a young girl.

Our evening was very relaxed, Tim even brought his Irish bouzouki across the street to the beach for a little jam session :)

I really enjoyed this family, so thanks to Paul, Melanie and Tim for a nice night!

Baby Wyatt

At just six days old, Wyatt was brought all the way from Victoria for our session.  Of course he happily snoozed for the entire car ride to Courtenay which meant he was a little trickier to keep sleeping while I was snapping.  His parents, Loren and Stephanie, were so patient with him - it is so nice when mom and dad can stay calm and relaxed and just let the baby lead how our time together goes.  I always feel honoured to photograph newborns, but especially so when people are traveling so far with their tiny babes!

I really love the image with Loren & Wyatt.  It looks like Dad is protecting him as he sleeps with a little smile on his face.

Thanks so much to Loren, Stephanie and Wyatt!  It was so nice to meet you :)

The Petersen Family

Here's a little taste of Summer on a dreary, Autumn day!  These photos were captured on Labour Day weekend during a lovely blast of sunshine!  This is the second time photographing this lovely family of five.  Back in December, our luck with the weather wasn't so great, as it was negative 10 degrees!  What a improvement 30 degrees makes in how content children are :)  Sheila and Brook wanted to have some casual photos taken on their boat and just hanging out on the beach with their three kiddies, Zach, Alex and Wyatt.

Thank you Petersen family, I hope these brighten your day a little!

The McGill Family - Part Two

Thursday, September 15, 2011 | |

This is the second session I did when I traveled to Clearwater a couple of weeks ago.  My cousin, Teneille, had gifted her mom and gift certificate last Christmas and I finally made my way up there to honour it!

We stayed Chateau McGill during our visit and holy smokes...what incredible hosts they were!  I'm pretty sure all that my aunt Wendy did was cook the entire time we were there :)

You'll probably notice that there are a few extra photos of my perfect, naturally beautiful cousin, Teneille thrown in here.  I stole her a bit early and did a few shots of her and also some with her boyfriend, Mitch.

Thanks Grant, Wendy, Tyler and Teneille for being so freakin' photogenic :)

The McGill Family - Part One

A couple of weeks ago, my family and I took a little roadtrip to Clearwater, BC to visit relatives.  While there, I did a couple of little sessions with some of my extended family.  This first one was for my cousin, Ted and his wife, Nissa, along with their children, Vanessa and Dorian.  I love how the kids are exact little clones of their parents.  They are the sweetest kids too - my three year old son adored them and followed them around like a little puppy the entire time.  The photo of the kids laying on the ground looking at each other cracks me up :)
